Ready for a career that actually helps people?
Through our training partner, Teeinnovations connects career-changers with a self-paced, remote course in evidence-based coaching skills — accredited by the Personalised Care Institute, the body NHS England convenes to set the standard for personalised care training.
Why this route exists
Moving into mental health work can feel out of reach.
Plenty of capable people feel pulled toward more human, meaningful work — but assume it requires university, a career gap, or starting from scratch. So the idea gets shelved.
This pathway offers structured, remote, self-paced training with supervised practice built in. No career gap required. No campus. No full-time commitment. Just a credible, accredited route into evidence-based coaching — designed around real life.
A full diary already
Taking time out for full-time study or unpaid placements isn't realistic. This route is designed to fit around an existing life — not replace it.
People skills, no paper trail
Being the person everyone turns to, without formal experience on a CV. The skills are there; the qualification isn't — yet.
A CV that tells the old story
Years of experience that reflect a different career path than the one now wanted. Starting over feels like erasing what you've built.
Real-world constraints
Money, location, and caring responsibilities rule out traditional routes. This pathway is remote, self-paced, and structured around real life.
Accreditation
Training that meets the NHS standard.
The course is accredited by the Personalised Care Institute (PCI) and carries around 100 hours of CPD. PCI accreditation is also required to work as an NHS Health and Wellbeing Coach in the UK.
Recorded workshops & demonstrations
Self-study and knowledge checks
One-to-one role-plays by video call
Mock and formal assessments
What you learn
Evidence-based techniques, practised until they're yours.
Role-play practice
Every technique is followed by at least two one-to-one role-plays with a trainer over video call. Roles are swappable so you can observe a demonstration before practising yourself.
Practical assessments
Two simulated client sessions test real-world application — each with a practice run and detailed feedback first. A retake is available if needed; passing opens supervised work with real clients.
Real experience (optional)
After passing, volunteers can work with real clients (roughly two suggested), around 90 minutes each weekly. Optional volunteer roles in recruitment role-plays, coach training, and client triage are also available.
